Go to your profile: Tap on your profile icon located in the bottom right corner to access your profile page.
Access settings: Tap on the three horizontal lines (menu icon) in the top right corner of your profile page. This will open the side menu.
Navigate to Settings: Scroll down to the bottom of the side menu and tap on "Settings".
Account settings: In the Settings menu, tap on "Account" to access your account settings.
Deactivate account: Scroll down in the Account settings menu and tap on "Temporarily deactivate my account".
Reason for deactivation: Instagram will ask you to select a reason for deactivating your account. Choose the most appropriate reason from the list.
Confirm deactivation: After selecting a reason, you may be prompted to enter your password for security purposes. Enter your password and tap "Continue".
Deactivate: Finally, tap on "Temporarily Deactivate Account" to confirm the deactivation. Your Instagram account will then be deactivated.
Keep in mind that deactivating your account is temporary, and you can reactivate it at any time by logging back in with your username and password. If you want to permanently delete your account, Instagram also provides that option, but it's different from deactivation.
